8" Lift on 38s or 40s W/ Cut-Out Fender Flares?!?!

i stuck between just getting 38x15.5r20s and just doing a little trimming on the fenders, or doing 40x15.5r20s with Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares on my 01 F250 CC SB 7.3l with a 8" lift,

i was going to do 38s to be safe but i not i'm thinking about just goin balls to the wall, but would the 40's fit with the cut outs? or what do you guys think i should do?
