Rear Brake Issue

I have a 1997 f-250 7.3 automatic 4x4 with 241,000. About 2 months ago I replaced the rear brake shoes due to the brake material falling off of one of the brake shoes. If i had to brake hard they would lock up instantly. So I replaced them and everything went good but now when i first start driving it they are very grabby. Only for the first couple blocks but if i barely touch the pedal the rears want to lock up. Could I have put them on wrong? Misplaced a spring? Or could it just be brake dust building up? I don't notice any leaking and after the first little bit of driving the brakes work great. Thanks For any help!
