non abs hub on a abs truck? abs light on.

I just bought an 03 f350 yesterday and noticed it had an abs light on . I asked the guy and he said he blew a wheel bearing on a road trip and whereever he brought it they only had a non abs hub. Well my problem is that where I live I need to get a saftey inspection done on the truck and an abs light is going to be a problem . So my question is , is there a way to put an abs sensor on a non abs hub , I'm thinking no. And if not can I jump the wire out somehow to make the dash light go out or just pull a fuse. I don't want to replace the hub cuz there so expensive. An help would be great thx in advance.

Send a message via Yahoo to Dave
If the sensor spot is in the hub you can add the sensor for about 40 bucks

The non ABS hub does not have a tone ring for the sensor to pick up. The sensor cost almost as much as the hub if it needs to be replaced. The only way I can think of to disable it is to flash the PCM to a rear wheel ABS setup.
