Sons truck project

My son has my old Expedition, 1998, he wants to lift it and run larger tires. He just graduated from high school and is leaving for boot camp in the fall. So I don't care about long term wear and tear on this truck.

He found a set of tires at a great deal and bought them, 37x15x18 mickeys. Steal of a deal on the tires, he found a set of 18x9 rims cheap. Can he get by for a few months running the 15s on those 9" rims?

If you run them down at 20~25 psi they should be ok. I have 38x15.50s on a 10 inch wheel on a half ton truck and that's where we had to put the psi. I'd really like to put them on a 12 or wider wheel.
