Chrome clad removal on 2012 chrome clad 18's

I have a 2012 F350 work truck I drive everyday with the stock chrome clad 18 inch rims and was wondering if anyone had removed the chrome clad cover off these wheels and if so how hard it is to do and what the wheels look like without it. I like the way the chrome wheels look but I work on a farm and drive on gravel roads about 75% of the time and the dirt gets behind the chrome covers and makes my tires vibrate terrible. The only way I've found to clean them out is take them off and wash around every opening. Not much fun when this happens every couple of weeks.
Thanks

Considering chrome is an electro-chemical process, removing it would probably be more problems than it would solve. You may want to try trading those chrome wheels for some clear coated aluminum wheels.

The rims themselves are just aluminum with a plastic chrome cover over them and they are two separate pieces. The chrome cover isn't sealed to the wheel so it gets dirt between the cover and wheel and the only way to remove the dirt is to take the wheels off and spray water in the cracks. I really don't want to take my wheels off every 2-3 weeks to clean them. But I guess I might just see if ford dealership will trade them for something else.

That sounds cheesey as hell, I'd ditch those rims like a nagging ex-wench.
