Dually conversion

Can it be done without a whole new rear end? Going with a flatbed setup soon so its time to Consider it. I've developed an emotional attachment with my 6.0 and would hate to swap trucks, but I need a dually and can't justify having two ton trucks. Current setup is a 2004 f350 srw. I've heard a little about spacers but are they really safe for heavy towing?

If it were me, I'd see if I could borrow a pair of 8x170 bolt pattern dually wheels and see how they fit. If everything worked, I would be buying the dually adapter for the front rotors, too.

Has anyone tried the Arrowcraft kits? Looks good and I'm thinking of doing it myself to lessen the load on the rear tires and increase stability when towing the fifth wheel.
