Will these wheels work....?

I've been looking for a new set of seventeen's for my 05 F250. I found a set that are 17x9 with -12 offset and 4.5" backspace and 130.8 center bore and of corse the 8x170 bolt pattern. The compatibility chart says they won't work could someone tell me if this is right or wrong and if they will or will not fit.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to run at least 18s on the 05-07s due to the brake rotor size?

Even if an 05 will clear 17s (think they will) that back space is for '99-'04. Starting on '05 the axle track got wider necessitating more back spacing.

Just found them on the tire rack web site and it says they will fit but requires a lift. Now my question is would they work with a 2.5" leveling kit running 35's.

Thanks

Again, the shorter backspace will shove the wheel outward hence, the need for a lift to roll 35s with that wheel. Yes they will fit, as in bolt up to the lug studs fit, but they will most likely stick out a little, too. I have 16x10s with about a 4.25 backspace (bought used, never measured) on my 2003 and with 4~5inches of lift I can stuff the 35s into the fender, literally.

Rolling 35s with a leveling kit relies on 2 things, backspace and width. proper backspace for that year on an 8 inch wide wheel or narrower will work. Anything wider, or wrong backspace (4.25 on an 05 and up) and it's rub city.
