Bigger brakes on 05+
hopefully someone can help me out with this... I recently got rid of my last 6.0 which was lifted on 42s, but it was on 04. I bought an 06 with intentions of lifting it just as high and putting these tires on it, come to find out the 06's have bigger brakes. My question is will my 16.5 wheels that the 42s are mounted on fit on this truck or no? If not, what can i do to make them fit? is it safe to grind the calipers down a little? Or even put an earlier model brake setup on? Im very open to suggestions as these tires are in great shape and i really want to avoid spending a ridiculous amount of money for a new set of tires just for bigger rims. Thanks everyone

grinding down the brakes.... ehh not the best plan
![]() Changing over to smaller hubs will require going back to the leaf spring design (changing the whole front axle/ parts) Not too many options... |
