Clear Powder over Fresh Chrome

Has anyone ordered chrome wheels and then powder coated clear over them? Will the heat of the oven mess up the chrome? my old chrome wheels look terrible, I mean absolutely horrible! but i hate to buy new wheels(same price as as getting them redipped) and go through it all again. Any comments, thoughts, or ideas would be great, thanks

Well I don't know anything about powder coating (I didn't even know you could get a clear powder coating) but have you thought about a good clear coat? I know it probably wouldn't be as durable as a powder coat, but I would think it would be easier.
