help me decide please
I'm looking at a new set of tires for my 08 f250. Came with the bfg rugged trail and they have been horrible in the ice cream type snow and ice so far. I've run bfg ATkos for years on my 1/2 ton trucks/SUVs but am looking at the goodyear duratracs and the nitto trail grappler also. Looking at keeping the 17" facotry rims(for cost reasons) and would like to go to 285/70s. I haven't seen the duratracs in a load range E in that size which made me look at the trail grapplers. I do alot of highway driving but also get off trail for hunting/fishing and am out in the worst kinds of weather when it hits. Towing is my 17' deep V boat or my 4 place open sled trailer which doubles as utility trailer for fire wood hauling. Guess I'm looking for a tire that looks good while being able to handle dry roads, wet/snowy/icey roads, and mild off trail use.
Any input would be great. Thank you |

I had 285/70r17's on my factory 97 f150 rims. They were buckshot xmt and were great in all
conditions! The load range doesnt matter as much as the weight capacity of the tire. Search for it here. There is a recent post with a link to some good reads. I will look for it if i get the chance. It was discounttire on here that did it. |
