So I have a 2001 f350 with a leveling kit on it. The truck currently has BFG's A/T (35x12.5X16.5's) on it and would like to get new wheel's and tires for it. As of right now the tires only rub when i turn the wheel all the way to the left. It rubs on the fender liner. But my question's are... 1. what back spacing should i run? 2. Any suggestions on tire sizes? and what would be a good tire to run?

Backspacing and that is tricky business... Personally, I just run through life pretending I understand it
Maybe discount or somebody with more knowledge will chime in..As for tires, I'd personally go with 16's and run a 315-75-16. Pretty close to your 35x12.5. Much easier to find(16.5's are goin out of style fast), and a set will run you in the 1000 buck range. BFG's are always a crowd favorite, I loved every set i've ever run. General AT2's are good, Nitto's seem big around here, I have little experience with them but everyone who's had them loves them. Those are some at tire options. Like I said, hopefully someone can jump on and help more with rims. Good luck!! |

I have a friend who has an 01 king rancher and he took the stocker 16's off and put a set of 18" moto metal 951's with a set of 33-12.5 toyo open country a/t's. He had a little rub until he put his 2" level on front, but he good now. Backspace on those wheels is 4.5" or -12 offset. They stick out just a slight bit past the fender flares, not much. I took one off his truck and put it on my 06 to see what it looked like because I am looking at getting a set of 955's for mine. They come out further on my truck, but they still look good.
Hope this helps you a little. |
