Buying discontinued wheels...Thoughts

I have been looking at buying a set of Moto Metal 955 wheels in the black and machined aluminum finish. Found out today that those have been discontinued. I can still get them as there are still lots out there, but I am not sure about buying wheels that have been discontinued. What do you guys and gals think? I guess the only problem would be if something ever happened to one of them I may not be able to get a replacement, which could mean buying a whole new set of wheels. I don't know, I really like those. What say you?

Personally, I wouldn't but to each their own. I would agree that if you are serious about getting them that you would need to get 5.

I agree. Who cares if they're discontinued or not. As long as they weren't pulled for a quality-deficient reason, I wouldn't care. Get the ones that you think look the best. That's all that matters.

Thanks, guys. Think I'm gonna go ahead and get them. They are the ones I really like, anyway.

I would. I've had many, many aftermarket wheels since i could drive and never had to replace one.

MotoMetal wheels are cast aluminum and can leak. My BIL and I both ended up with warranty claims to get several wheels replaced. After 3 separate wheels, he finally gave up and they sent him a refund. I only had 1 wheel replaced and it has been perfect. I sold those wheels to a buddy of mine several months ago.

In neither case did we identify the casting flaws until about a year or so later. I just don't want you to have the same experience.
