what size tire for 16.5x12 rim?

just bought a set of 16.5x12 mickey thompsons. i've been trying to decide on tires and i just have a few questions.

i'd like to run between 35's and 37's but what i'm concerned about is the tire width. most that ive seen are only 12.5 and the occasional 13.5, what is the smallest width that will fit without making the tire wear awkwardly?

if 12.5 will work on a 12 inch rim i'm prolly just going to buy the 37" goodyear military tires. i know the selection is slim but i got a good deal on these and i like the wider stance.
