33x12.5x20 Issue

I just got back from the tire shop where they weren't able to mount my toyo open country m/t's on the stock rims (20's) and they're trying to tell me I need at least a 20x10 wheel for them to mount them. Has anyone run into this issue before? From all the reading I've done on here there hasn't been any trouble mounting 33x12.5 onto the factory 20's.

Also, is anyone running BMF 20x10 wheels? I believe they've got 4.75" backspacing and a -19mm offset... would I run into clearance issues with this wheel on stock suspension or am I going to need a little bit of lift to clear? (Ideally, nothing bigger than 2.5")

Not sure on 33's, but my tire center mounted my 35's onto my factory 20's without any issues. might just not be enough sidewall to get the tire to flex around the rim...
