Looking for more sidewall...
Hello everyone,
The ride quality on my '06 SD is really poor, and I think it is due to the 20" rims (not much sidewall). So I am considering dropping to a 17" wheel. However, the 20" is a 4.5" backspacing, while the 17" is a 4.75" backspacing. If I understand backspacing correctly, that means the 17" rim will bring the tires in .25" per side and reduce my overall track width by .5". Will a 0.5" narrower track cause any stability issues with a 6" lift (i.e. make the truck top-heavy)? Thanks for the advice!!
