Cooper Roadmaster Tires

I have a 2000 Ford F550 Crew Cab Dually with a custom Fontaine bed.. i used to haul goose neck horse trailers with it... but i had a general tire blow out on me on tuesday morning. Took the truck to the shop and they recommended putting on Cooper RoadMaster Tires. RM170 STEER tires in the front, and RM 253 DRIVE tires in the rear. I picked the truck up from the shop today after install of the cooper tires, and the driver side tire has a weird thud sound at all speeds. Never heard anything like it from a tire. Anyone have any ideas? could it be a defective tire? balanced wrong? etc...

Also if anyone has any input on running Steer tires in the front and Drive tires in the back lets hear it! I don't have much experience in knowing the difference in running a regular setup compared to running it the way i have it now..

Never heard of a thud? I dont think it is a balance issue you would notice that at speed. Personally take it back to the shop. Let them test drive it and GO with them when they do the test drive. Youll get a quick answer rather then them beating around the bush.

Went to the shop today and spent 2 hours trying to diagnose the issue.. put the tire on a different rim, rebalanced it, etc... still makes the same noise its kinda like a repeated pop pop pop noise like you would hear if there was a rock in the tread.. but louder and theres nothing in there. They are getting me a new tire hopefully by tomorrow.. if that doesn't work I'm going to have them get me a set of normal all position tires for the front
