DRW tire position questions
replacing the 4 tires on the rear of the truck Wednesday. Should i take the 2 front tires (they have about 6-8000 miles on them) and put them in the rear and put a set of brand new tires up front?
This will be my first time replacing tires at different times. This will be my first time replacing tires at different times. i put 6 new 315/75/16 nitto tera grapplers tires on the truck when i bought it. Ended up replacing the front two nitto tires with BFG AT's due to bad ball joints which ate then up while i was deployed. That is why I am replacing the rears (nittos) with new BFG AT's I hope that makes sense. Last edited by needatruck; 03-28-2011 at 04:00 PM. |

If it was me, I would put them on the back (inner wheels) and put the new ones on the front. The rears will far out last the fronts.

I would do the same, the inner rear's wear the least. That's my experience, as I replace things in pairs. Shifting the BFG fronts to the inner rears allow you to avoid replacing the fronts again as quickly as you would otherwise.
