ABS Speed Sensor

Ok I need some help, I just bought a 2006 F250, drove it over 1500miles and then the ABS light comes on go to the shop and they tell me its the ABS speed sensor. I have someone then tell me it could be a short in the system. I have continued to drive it then last night the speedometer started going all goofy on me and is now locked in place at 60mph. Is this something that a shade tree screw up can fix or should I take it someplace to have it done professionally? Any advice on this would be great. I have driven Powerstrokes for 14 years at work and have never seen anything like this, but honestly I never have worked on them fleet took care of maintencence.

Thanks

Joe

FIRST, check the ground up by the driver's side headlight

It took 5 weeks to figure that out...
