I want new wheels!
I am wanting to get some new wheels but dont want to get new tires yet as mine are still in good shape. I plan on getting larger tires when the time comes but would like to get wheels now. I have BFG ATs 265-70r17s on now and it says that the rim width should be 7-8.5 inches. Will a nine inch rim work or hurt the tires in any way or put me in any kind of danger?

I'm in the same boat you are. I was looking for a factory set of 20's with tires cause I like the way they look, but cant find any close to me at a decent price.
So gonna put some aftermarket wheels on stock tires. My truck has 275/70/R18 I was looking at some eagle wheels 061's, and they are 18x9's. My contitracs are also rated for a 8.5 rim width. Also gonna get the offset closer to factory so that the wheels dont look funny with facotry tires. Talked to a friend that owns a tire shop and said Ill be fine. Hope this helps. |

To give ya some info if the tire calles for a 7-8 inch rim and you want a 9 it will be a no problem it will just make your tire look diffrent instead of the tire sucking in to the rim on the beed it would be more like in line with the edge of the rim if you know what i mean it will not make no diffrence. If you have anymore questions you can contact me threw e-mail or call my family tire store schinder tire (616) 677-5202. Ask for Jeff or Jason and just ask them your question they can explain better then I can
