wheel offset/backsspace help needed.
i have a 2011 F350
Im buying some Fuel Offroad -hostage rims 20x10. They come in either a 4.5" backspace / -24mm offset or 5" backspace / -12mm offset. I have a 4.5" lift and am going to run 35" tires. I want the tires to stick out and have a nice wide stance. Which backspace/ offset should i get? They also make a 20x9 with 5"/-1mm and 5.5"/-14 Thanks for any help guys Last edited by goodoleboy; 02-01-2011 at 05:58 AM. |

If you want them to stick out further, then it's obvious, you want less backspace/more negative offset. 4.25" to 4.5" BS is what you want anyway as far as backspace, and since that puts the rest of the wheel outside, it gets you what you want.
Only concern I'd have running a 10" wheel is if enough wheel his being shifted out to cause problems with the weight riding further in on the wheel causing unhealthy strain on the front end. From that perspective I'd rather run a 5" BS if if would clear, and it only pulls 1/2" of the wheel back under the truck. But there's a ton of folks running 10" wheels without problem so my scenario may not be a concern. |
