brake problem

I have a 97 F-250 Powerstroke. The last time I drove it I noticed when I got out that the brake lights were on. I have since not be able to get them to go off. I have to disconnect the battery to turn them off. Also the light on the trailer brake controller stays lit. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Check the brake light switch that is connected to the top of the brake pedel and the power brake booster. It may be shorted or some other obvious problem.
