Hankook Dynamic Radial Z36 review
My Truck: 1997 F350 7.3 SRW 4x4 Crew 10' flatbed with 3 7'tool boxes.
Previous tires Cooper Discovery, stock size 55,000 miles, no cupping , no exessive middle wear from rear or edge wear from front. Just replaced every rotating, pivoting, and seal in front end. Had it realigned. New stock size tires review: Pros: quiet and smooth on all surfaces except gravel excellent traction on slick surfaces, ie: ice, compacted snow, wet hard surface roads, wet but still firm gravel/dirt. Good handeling when properly inflated. Cons: Tight tread pattern picks up alot of rocks and throws them all over. Proper inflation is a must. 5 psi too low for the load and the tires are squishy, wandering, 5 psi too much and you will know every crack in the road. At 5000 miles while running 55 to 60 psi in the rear (500 to 1000 lbs tools) the center of the tire is wearing quickly. (Note if I go below 55 psi in rear the tires are squishy and wander) Front tires are a little crowned (65 psi always). Mud and more than 6" of snow performance is dismal at best. Overall review: I honestly don't think I will get much over 30,000 miles out of these tires and they are so picky with air and weight. I liked the price and the quiet ride but living in North Dakota and having to drive on a lot of gravel and dirt the lack of tracton in snow and mud is a deal breaker. I won't be buying these tires again. |
