Brake pad Advice

I have 2004 F250 CC and was told that i am going to need brake pads soon. Money is tight right now and when I was in my teens I used to do brake jobs all the time, not a difficult task. My question is I want to buy a quality pad, i like to do something right the first time and have it be good for a long time. Should i go to the dealer or look on the internet for a discount OEM brake pad, or should I use bendix or I have done a search and seen brands that I am not familiar with, but sound good in description, such as Akebono or Centric? My truck is stock, I do mostly local and highway driving if that matters? I definitely want a quiet pad that I will get good mileage out of. Thank you.
