I would say you need some new gears, maybe like a 4.56 or something like that to run those 40's, assuming you havnt changed out already.

IDK from experience but they say the largest tire to run with a 3.73 is a 35'', someone should chime in. Would you be pulling a lot?

I'm running 36's right now w/ the 3.73s and it pulls fine and is pretty fast for a big *** truck.... but i found some 40" wrangler mtrs for $1000 for all 4 and don't think i can pass that up... but if it's not a good idea i don't think i'll be doing it....

im running 40x17r16.5 ground hawgs and im on stock gears still... only problem you will have is higher egt's... but personally it feels the same as 4:56's cuz my brother had same truck as me and had 40's with 4:56's and he had some lower egt's... but thats only my opinion... you will see a rpm diff but personally no power diff...
