e350 turbo problems

A friend has an e350 turbo van that he replaced the trubo, tank, fuel pump, a module on top of the turbo and a few other small items... He totally lost power coming home one night and the dealer told him of the problems with the tank peeling from the inside and clogging up everything along the way. He put in a new sending unit, two new filters and the truck ran better, but he is still getting 3-4 codes saying that there is a loss of air pressure somewhere. He has been using if for work and depends on it but does not have money to bring it to a dealer or mechanic. He really babies this thing and changes the oil and filters regularly and washes this thing to death. I have cleared the codes twice for him, but I do not know anything about diesels, I am a DIYeer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

It would really help if you listed the codes and can you hear the turbo change sound after you start it up?

I hope since August some progress has been made, but the year of the van would also help.
