2003 ford f250 missing & jumping

I have a 2003 f250 with the dreaded 6.0....honestly I've had the truck 1 1/2 years & this is the first problem I I've had......when I first get in & go it jumps bucks & misses...it clears up after it warms up somewhat...it has edge juice & attitude...the egr valve has never been out...plan on doing this in about an hr...also it didn't start till I put the cheap *** purolator oil filters on...i can't f find rev x within 100 miles of here but I did last week add licas synthetic oil additive & it helped....& the injectors are a year old please...& no check engine light....any help is appreciatef...

If your Edge will retrieve codes, see what it has to say. From there, I am sure in the STICKY section you should find info on testing the FICM. Also, how are your batteries/alternator? A quick test at OReilly's could tell you that. Remember, if you need one battery, get both.

First of all, get the junk purolator filters out and install Motor Craft filters. Next, pull the valve like you intend and clean it but most likely you have an FICM issue. Needs to be checked with KOEO and then while cranking. Needs to be 46 volts or higher when cranking and do it when it's cold. If it's lower than 46, it will be a hard start or no start condition and cause it to run rough and chug like you're describing.

If you have a volt meter, you can check it for free. If not, it really needs to sit over night and be checked when cold.

I had a similar problem on my 07. It would start rough and puff out a little white smoke with a heavy fuel smell and run rough until it warmed up. Turned out to be one bad injector and three injectors going downhill. Idk if this is solely an injector problem or something more. Going to pick her up today. So we'll see.
