dead pedal

my 1996 ford f250 7.3 psd has 320000 miles on it and somtimes when I press the pedal it goes dead, when I press it the check engine light comes on, when I let off it goes out. Sometimes the O/D off light will flash. I have already replaced the intier pedal. I also have a dp tuner f5 power chip tried taking it off but truck run prety bad i dont know if there is stock chip that goes back in the pcm.

could my pcm going bad causae the pedal to go dead or a short in the dash somwhere

od wire shorting. mine did this yesterday. elect. tape fix.
