Skipped oil change

My family was hit hard by economic changes in the last few years and I believe I made a bad decision to skip my last oil change. It has been about 10k miles since my last oil change, however, the truck appears to be running very well. I changed the oil yesterday with Rotella T and everything seems to be ok so far. This is my first diesel and I religiously changed my oil every 4-5k miles max., unitl this time. There is no smoke, no surging, no power loss, no hard starting, nothing appears to be wrong. I need to know if there is anything I need to do or have done, that can help undo, what I may have done. Your wisdom and time are appreciated.

I have a 2007 F-250, 6.0 Powerstroke. Same as yours, less the King Ranch. Is there any additive I should use? Should I run it for a couple of days and change the oil again?

6.0 injectors hate dirty oil but it should be fine since you only went 10,000 miles i usually go 7500 miles every oil change and have never had a problem

Thanks for the info. Is it worth bringing to Ford to have them look at the injectors, or should I just wait for an issue to occurr if it ever does?

Yup, you should be fine. I wouldn't make a habit of the longer interval though or you will probably be changing out injectors.

Many thanks to you both for the replies. Just the thought of spending $5k, or whatever it, is for a new motor has scared me straight.

With my previous truck (05 Duramax) I did engine oil analysis for a few oil changes. I changed it at 6k, analysis said to go 7500. I analysis after 7500 and they said to go 8200. Analysis at 8200 and they say do to 9k. I stopped doing analysis there. I did oil changes at 8k for I don't think 10k on an oil change is going to make any problems for you. Maybe just add some Seafoam to the oil.

94% of all Dodge Cummins trucks from1992 through 2012 are still on the road today..... The other 6% made it home.....

2012 F250 Lariat FX4
H&S Mini Maxx
Deleted MBRP 4" W/Muffler
EGT blocker plate
If it still runs when you delete it, you don't need it!
