truck blowing grey smoke
hey guys wondering if someone could help me i have an 06 6.0 i have mbrp exhast , afe intake and edge chip. my truck sat for 2 months with an 1/8 tank of full from august to oct the first day i used it it was around 8 degrees celcius and with the chip at 100hp it was blowing lots of black smoke like usual, but yesterday i was out and it was blowing black but as the truck got hotter he began blowing a dark grey smoke and the temperature was 1 degree celcius and my engine light comes on and off for a stuck egr valve. its not burning coolent or oil so im just wondering if its the temperature change causing this or if i might have a more serious issue? i turned the chip to 40hp and it doesnt smoke at all. also no smoke while idle even after starting it.
hope someone can help me thanks |

Yeah it is cleaning the filter. You may want to looking in to replacing it if it has never been done before... |

Do an egr delete. I always return my chip to stock when its cold until the truck is at operating temp. i just feel safer doing that.

Pull the egr valve out and clean it why it is out look in the intake manifold and see if it dry or dose it look wet or oily. Dry you are probly ok wet or oily looking might be somthing for you to look into. Lots of black smoke means power but also heat and presure to much black.smoke may not be gaining any power you can shove all the fuel you want in it but with.out the right amount of air going in and the.right amount going out. Not doing the eng any good.
