I recently bought a 2008 F-450 Lariat (from a Dodge dealer). How can I determine the towing capacity of this vehicle? I looked in all the manuals and literature that came with the truck, and found different figures in different places. The numbers varied from 20K pounds up to 29K pounds. I called the local Ford dealer, gave them the VIN, and they said it will tow 17,500 lbs. I am confused. I don't want to overload the truck. I would appreciate any help in determining my truck's towing capacity.
