I would get your owners manual out and show them the ratings....or use the door sticker. Them guys at those rental places where you live need to lay off the wacky tobacci.....

A 5000 lb hitch could be the reason. there trailer wieghs in at 2500-3000 lbs probably and then a car on it...another 4k lbs. Your hitch isn't man enough if it really is a 5k lb. hitch.
I thought class 3 was rated higher than that...like 10k lbs.
Be sure and ask them specifically WHY they are saying this. They can't just deny you the rental without reason.

Yeah, if you drove in with a F-250 and they told you this, they are absolute morons. Ask to speak to a manager or someone else who hasn't coated all ther brain cells with Bong resin. lol...i actually would say that exact thing to them, of course i tend to be a little intolerant of morons.

ok just got back from both budget and uhual. and they both said the same thing. the lincoln navigator was to heavy for my truck to pull on the trailer. i showed them both the manual and the door. and they both said the same thing. that i couldn't pull my navigator. store policy. wow. so i guess iw ill be searching for a trailer or just get my wife to drive it down there at the same time as me. this very strange to me
