what brake controller

getting ready to start taking the fifth wheel out and just need to know is there a good or bad brake controller(besides one that doesnt work) any brands to stay away from and how hard are they to wire up to the truck I have a 04 f250 thanks for the help

I just upgraded to a Tekonsha Prodidgy P3. They are top of the line from everything I've read.Instalation is pretty straight foreward.

I agree on the Prodigy, it's what I run, and ....you should have a plug , under your dash, not the SCAN plug...............and buy the Ford plug to Prodigy pre made cable, and just plug it in. The cable should be right at the Prodigy didplay.

If your truck came with tow harness....................most do now days. You may need to add a fuse, if you have not used the harness plug yet, or no one else has.

How much is that. Are there any that you guys have heard to stay away from. About how much is it to install the hitch in the bed?

Depends on what hitch you want in the bed.
If you want the common Reese 30035 rail kit, I usually take 3hrs on average to do one.

We have the hitch just need to buy the rails for my bed.

I bought a P3 to replace another brake controller. Should be hooking it up in the next week to compare

I'm still looking for a place to install 5th wheel hitch my best quote was 550 just to have rails put in....

For me to put em in would be about 460. So maybe they are doing something else?
