Hauling for others??

I was thinking about advertising for general hauling using my new truck and car trailer. I was looking for info on what people pay for insurance and how you charge? Is it per mile? I am new to this and don't even know if it will be worth while to do? I put a call in to my insurance company (Allstate) They said they don't insure that and they broker it out, have not heard back from them yet... maybe even towing boats, etc.

That should take care of you for a while, oh, and don't even think of doing it part time, you'll never make it.

I was reading some of your other post, seems like a hassle... I was looking to be a weekend warrior... my job is pretty flexible. Just thought maybe I could do some of this...

You'll LOSE more money doing this part time than you can make. First, your insurance is gonna run at least $5000 a year,it has to be in affect full time, whether you haul 1 load a year or 500..... So, if you run just weekends, you'll have to clear $500 a day JUST to pay for the insurance, with a 1 car trailer, you're wasting your time. I do this full time and struggle to keep my head above water. This is NOT a part time job.
