OK, I guess this is the medic in me but, carry a first aid kit, eye protection, and some water and saline or something to flush your eyes out with or to put on a burn. If you get stuck and hurt, you can't do anything till you get YOURSELF fixed up. Also, extra meds or anything you take on a regular basis.

I like the carpet/rug idea!!
A 10 x 10 Tarp is always good to have!! I've got a couple cans of soup in the box as well (old fashioned church key is in the truck). Also, about this time of year is when my Sorel's get put in the truck and stay there till Spring (unless I'm wearing them of course) LOVE those boots!!!!!!! Also, several pairs of gloves are always in the doors as well as a pair of pliers to lock in the manual hubs.
