Cool idea...but you might be wandering into CDL turf with a tri axel. Some states are cracking down on that practice.

Not in the states he is going to be in. I am sure in Oregon and Washington and Cali I am 99% sure. The rule in this area (or maybe others) is any trailer over 400 sq. ft. of space(eclosed tralier, travel trailer, or any trailer) you have to have a CDL. So as long as you dont have a trailer that is 10 x 40 then you are fine.

you could probably hire yourself out for more work than you could keep up with on craigslist with an enclosed trailer. I think that you are on to a good idea here. I would just be concerned about the liability aspect of doing something like that. you might have to go legit and establish an LLC to keep you outta hot water if you decide to do that type of thing after helping your freind move.
