Towing with 22.5 alcoas, 03 7.3 cclb drw
As the topic states I'm getting ready to tow with some new shoes. I am installing 6 22.5 alcoas, American force adapters (aggressive offset for aluminum inners), and 235 80 22.5 michelins. I have the stock 4.10 gears and my main concern is towing my dads lady friend's 5th wheel. It's 9500 dry with gear, groceries, and water figured 12000. My concern is, am I shooting myself in the foot or will I be okay. We're headed to upstate NY from NC about 800miles one way. I'm just a little nervous about my trans, I have a disorder called transmission-phobia after being raped by my old truck.

I'm not a mechanic but i can't imagine that you're truck, even wiht the bigger wheels, is going to have any issues towing that kinda weight. Seems on the low side of what i hear some guys say they are pulling. I had a buddy borrow my camper which is about 7000 lbs dry weight, (maybe 8000 wet and loaded,) from PA to NC with a newer Ford Expedition! Now he was prolly right on the cusp of being over laoded with that truck but he ahd no issues at all.

You might decide you need to regear. Just try it and see.
