Truck died while towing trailer

Ok, so this is my first time posting. So bear with me. And to make it better, i am not a mechanic or any of the above. I am a contractor. So help me. I have a 2006 f250 with 100k miles. Yesterday was towing trailer. A light trailer. 16' flatbed unloaded. Pulled down interstate at 70 mph with no problems. At my exit, the truck sputtered. Pulled onto exit ramp and it died. Now wont start. Had my mexhanic come get it but its easter weekend so prolly this week sometime before he can tell me anything. He was thinking either sensor or a high pressure pump. Only other info i have for u is last time i was pilling a traoler, about a week ago, the wrench light came on as i pulled into my driveway. Next day no light and everything running fine. Need some advice.

When my truck died no lights popped up,no codes. Mec thought it was bad fuel so new filters ,diesel fuel and cetane boost solved my problem. U should have a scan gauge at least; helps read any trouble codes. Keep us posted.
