i did it

SO i decided againdst the 2" reciver for a not much better option of a 1994 f-350 with a dump box. it has the pintle hook on the back mounted to a plate so we hooked it up to that and dropped her in 4 low. 25 mph all the way to the shop. the old 460 had her work cutout for her. any way she landed safe and sound thanks for all your help.

not to much

buddy of mine pulled a 7810 4x4 john deere tractor with dual wheels off the tractor but on the front of the trailer with all the weights and it was on a 1999 30ft gooseneck with a 5ft dovetail pulled with a 2004 cc dually 4x4 King ranch f350. he was grossing 39,000. he pulled it from nebraska to north carolina. he was able to run about 80 wide open on flat ground. he only did it to see if it would do it. he averaged about 60 mph. he drives crazy but this is a true story and he has a picture of it. true story honest to God.

I own two tandem dual goosenecks, one 32', one 40', I have pulled these trailers with 7.3's, 6.0's, and my 6.4. I have consistantly grossed 35,000-40,000lbs., one load with the 6.4 grossed 42,000lbs these trucks pull them great, I run regular speeds. These trucks are capable of more than most people know! I have a '94 IDI turbo that I have been pulling the 40' with grossing over 35,000lbs and it handles it great!!!! I am thinking of doing a project with a F550 and maybe putting a C7 Cat in it, still researching this project!

Careful in 4xlow. Don't make no turns on hard surface. Something WILL break with all that weight. Good Luck!

Yeah I worry about the fines that's why I stay under 18,000 gcw. Although the fines don't worry me as much as not being able to stop on time, some of the cities I drive through have really bad drivers. I normally get cutoff at least twice while going through them. One guy that hauls for the same franchise we have has hauled 37,000# from Atlanta to Denver, he didn't stop at any weigh stations either.

I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to pull it with a gooseneck trailer but you're askin for trouble with a receiver.

We pull loads like this all the time at the Rental Store were I work. We have 3 25 footer's and a 30 footer gooseneck on the big I've had a Case 585 forklift weighing 14,200 lbs and a John Deere 332 Track Skid Steer 10,400 lbs and the gooseneck weighs 7980 so it grosses about 38-40K. Trailer has Electric over Hydro Brakes and the truck pulls it just fine at 70 Mph. Wouldn't want to go over about 16K on a bumper pull though. Gotta love these Powerstroke's!!

He had 4 miles to go, class 5 hitch, pintle hook with a 9 ton(18k gvw). When he drove the fork on his trailer the back wheels of his truck came off the ground, he did not care?!? The truck was squatted dead on the axle.... front tires barely had traction to steer....his 9T trailer was boarderline.....he started moving about 2500ft into it the front tire of the trailer blew out dumping more weight on the truck, front wheels came offf the ground, lol, and then his truck tires blew out, and the alum rims got mangled, and with all the twisting and weight shifting his hitch got bent and twisted. In the end we ended up driving the machine there with 2 escort cars one in front and one in back. His (new at the time)2000 Dodge loaded with all the goodies had about 5-6k in damage. He said he tore up the bumper and the frame was bent a little....and somehow he didn't care. said its a truck should be able to use like one?!? If you attempt it, make sure you have good tires everywhere, trailer tires especially and use a real pintle hitch rated for at least 10K. They say hitches are supposed to handle 3x the stated cap. but then they fail. Keep in mind a 9T trailer loads a good amount of weight on the vehicle since they are usually pulled by 26-33K gvw trucks where 6T isn't much. I would find a local construction co. and see if they would help or a HD towing co with a HD rollback. They usually are fair in price from what I have found...$90-150, and no worries its their equip.

Good luck with what you choose.
Goood Luck with what you choose, hope your clutch is good if you do it in H.
But that was a dodge truck with a wimpy frame. if the load is properly distributed on the factory reciever and tow vehicle it will work at slow speeds and on flat ground. No way I would ever try to tow on a hill
