97 towing 14k
I have a 97 f350 srw 7.3 ps, auto, 4.10ls, cclb, 2wd stock. I pulled my 30ft 14kgvw gooseneck the other day which probably weighed in at about 7k with the load i had on it (4600trailer + 2500load) and the truck had to struggle a good bit especially on any overpass. So I hate to see what would happen with a full 14k behind it. What mods would help this truck out. I would like for it to pull like my 02 dodge 3500 (5.9cummins stock) or close to it. Id rather drive ford especially on long hauls; the 02 dodge is a POS except for motor.

Intake, exhaust, tuner, gauges, intercooler, trans cooler. Or put the 5.9 in the Ford.

Appreciate the reply JSchuricht, that's about what i was figuring going to have to get a pyro and boost gauge and start with the exhaust and air intake. Hate to dump to much money into her she isn't a spring chicken with 242xxx, but on the other hand i do enjoy driving it.

is it auto or manual, get yourself some gauges first and for most, then looks up the DIY intake, i used the fram CA8037 filter, get a 3"down pipe, straight pipe it if that legal at all in your state, and get some custom tunes, she should do better than your dodge does, i have a cali emissions equipped 97 so i have factory 120cc split shots like the E99, just not intercooled, and i can hit 30 psi of boost with my TW tunes, good luck i love my rig, towes like nothing is there
