New PSD owner with some towing/hauling questions

What's up everybody...new member here. Just bought an 05 F-250 SD PSD (CC, 4WD, Lariat, FX4, 38k miles) about two months ago and had a couple questions regarding towing/hauling capacities. I've read tons of info on the web about this, but usually end up confused..haha.

Anyway, I will be needing to haul hay for an uncle this year and it looks like a gooseneck trailer will be in order. Will probably be picking up my B&W turnover ball system either today or tomorrow (30K # system), so that'll be taken care of.

My question is, what exactly is the towing capacity of the truck in this configuration with a gooseneck?

17,000 lbs?

I'll probably be using a 25-30 ft dual axle gooseneck with ~12-14, 600-800 lb rolls on it.

Is being overweight gonna be a problem?

Truck has the original Contitrac tires on it (18") - any idea on what pressure to run?

I'm sure I'll think of more, but if anyone could give me a hand, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Marv

First - Welcome to the .org!!! Glad you chose to join!

Look on the sticker inside your door for the rear axle (3200 ish???)rating and tire pressures..

as far as towing capacity - I know my 01 F250 is 15K for a 5th wheel/gooseneck style trailer... hope that helps.

Blue, thanks for the warm welcome....it's good to be here - lot's of good info.

I'll check the sticker inside the door. Figured that would be a good place to start, but thought some of you folks would also have some comments.

Sounds like I should be able to handle the load....I'm sure it's good for 15k lbs on a gooseneck. But then again, I just wanted to check. Just didn't want to risk damage to anything.

Anyone else with advice, feel free to post up! I'm up for the advice!!!!

Thanks!
