6.0 Fuel economy towing
The traveltrailer I'm purchasing has an 8000GVW, is large and square (2008 Jayco 27 RBS)
2008 Jayco Jay Flight 27 RBS Trailer : Reviews, Prices and Specs : RV Guide What might I expect in mileage with my diesel towing this size trailer? My truck has logged as good as 22mpg unloaded on the interstate at 70 mph. John |

At one time I had a similar set up, averaged about 10 mpg while towing. Sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse.

You get 22 MPG at 70 MPH!! thats pretty good! Wish I did, I only get 17-18. Have you done any mods like a tuner?
Anyway, I tow my 5th wheel at 10,500+ and get about 12 MPG. Paul |

I would think 10-12 MPG is about what you could expect.

My Keystone Springdale at 28' and 7500lbs yields ~12MPG at 65-70MPH.

Its not always weight, its drag, and thats a tall trailer... so yeah i agree.

Shoot for 10mpg. If you get more you will be happy.
