~9k load and tranny
I got an opportunity to pull a Bobcat S160 on a tilt trailer and estimated load weight was about 9k according to the guy in the rental place. When I was pulling my transmission didn't seem to want to shift very smooth. It seemed to shift hard almost to the point it was trying to spin the tires. Is this normal for such a heavy load?
Truck is bone stock except for 33x12.50 tires, trans cooler and gauges. EGTs were running about 10k and were hitting 11k going up the hills at about a whopping 30 MPH. |

No a firm shift is normal. But not so firm it will break the tires loose.

It didn't actually break them loose but it felt like it.
