Towing a big load with a dully questions
Hi guys I just joint this site today and the ford club last week with a 2004 f350 dully and I have some questions for you.
I am a bit confused as to the actual towing capacity of my truck it is a 04 6.0 with 4x4 standard 6speed and 4.10 gears. I can't find anything on the truck that tells me except a sticker on the hitch that says 15k with weight distribution hitch. Can someone point me to a link where I might find this info.
Also what do you think about what I plan to pull with it is it to much? I have a 30 ft cabin cruiser boat that has a rated dry weight of 10000 lbs I figure I would add another 1500 lbs for fuel and gear. The big question is the actual weight of the trailer can someone chime in with an educated guestimate on what a triple axle steel boat trailer normally runs as far as weight. The trailer itself has 3 5k axles so I figure the whole rig would be about 15k. Anyone pull that much of there bumper? Well not actually the bumper but the hitch on the back. And the trailer has hydraulic brakes on all 6 wheels so i think stopping would not be that big of and issue.
I would normally just hook it up and go and not really think twice about it but I have some very precious cargo riding in the baby seat in the back and I can't take any chances.
Sorry for the long post and than you for your reply's.
