Towing questions

Hey guys,

It's been a long while since I've posted on the forum, and I've never posted in this thread. When I bought my truck over the winter, I didn't have intentions of towing much. In fact, I still don't plan on towing much. However, I am going to need to tow probably 7-8K worth of machinery on about a 70-80 mile trip. Mostly flat, between Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio. Will I be alright to tow this without gauges?

99 F350 DRW 7.3L 4X4 all stock.

Also, I just recently had my turbo rebuilt and the mechanic told me there needed to be a break-in period before I could tow with it. He didn't specify how long of a period (how many miles) that was. I no longer drive my truck daily and I probably have only put 500-600 miles on it since the rebuild.

Thanks for the help, and sorry if this stuff has been asked.

I've tugged my 10,000 Lb 5er for over 20,000 miles with no problems...your load sounds pretty light for your rig...I would invest in a scangauge II (to monitor important engine temps) though, just for peace-of-mind...it's only about 170 bucks at AutoZone, and worth every penny....takes about 5 minutes and NO TOOLS to install.

Cheers!

Have a good trip, your truck will enjoy getting to pull this little load. LOL
With 500 miles on turbo rebuilt, you should be fine.

Thanks guys. I didn't think I had anything to worry about, especially for such a "light" load and a short trip. My main concern was the turbo rebuild.
