I have a '08 F250 crew cab 4x4 with a factory round and flat trailer light connector on the rear. I was wondering if I could add a factory brake controller in the dash without any major modifications? Is this a simple installation or can it even be done?

It is plug and play, pre-wired. The factory brake controlers are great. They work good and are out of the way of your knees.

Yea you have to get behind the factory to unplug it and wire up the after market one. I have a friend who owns a hitch and trailer shop and he says the ones built in suck.

Wow, I have used my factory one with 3 different trailers, all varying in size, length, axle, ect... and it performed great. It did just as good if not better than the Tekonsha I had in my last truck.

DDBCK, thanks so much for the info, its what I was wanting to know. Everyone I talk to really like the factory ones and I would like to get one. I'm sure a person who sales controllers for a living will want you to buy one they have, but I want factory just as DDBCK says!!!

It requires two additions to make it work. One being a different master cylinder Two being a PCM reflash |
