U-Haul Wont let me tow...

My '56 Ferguson Tractor. Its in Vermont and I want to get it down here to South Carolina. I called them up and the sales rep asked his manager and got a flat "No" no reason why.

Do I tell them Im just towing a car back here? Or can I get in trouble?

Who will rent me a trailer for a 900 mile one way trip?

Uhaul wants to know the year make and model of vehicle being towed, I would try and call the corprate offices and see what can be done. How much does the tractor weigh? The Uhaul transport is only a 7.5kGVW trailer and it weighs 2200lbs itself, only leaves 5300lbs for your tractor. If you hit someone, or someone hits you, Uhaul will be coming after you for the cost of their trailer, and your insurance may deny your claim for a number of reasons.

Craigslist. Buy a trailer, use it, then resell it. Probably cost you $500 to rent a trailer one way anyhow.

I was thinking of doing that too

The old girl only weighs 3500#. And I made sure guy knew it before asking his manager. It would cost about 500 to rent from them, If i purchaced a trailer I kinda worry about putting money in it for repair before the trip

One other thing with the Uhaul Auto transport, its not a true flatbed style trailer. It has a large open section in the middle, if those front tires are close together it won't work at all.

Tell U-haul to stick it. You may be able to get a freight broker to haul it reasonable.

Remember one thing, it's their property and if don't want tractors hauled with it, then quit your b1tchin'. And don't tell UHaul anything.

Find something or someone else, pretty simple if you ask me.
