You will save money on fuel with a tonneau cover. In Germany, I got one (soft) for my Dakota and it paid itself off within 7 months in fuel savings ($200). It really starts to make a difference over 50 mph, especially when you're running at the gov. limit all the time (97mph).

I am with Dumaisk. This cover can be used in so many ways. I am definitely a fan. In terms of it being top heavy, I think that is irrelevant. Even if it is, it's still gonna be easier than pulling a trailer. If you are pulling a trailer, you are gonna have to go slow around turns anyway. Plus you still have all that space that a trailer takes up. So if top heaviness is your main concern, you really have nothing to worry about.

I like the way this cover works too. Those comparing this to towing an ATV are missing the point I think. If you want to take an ATV or as in my case a Rhino to a jobsite and pull a travel trailer or utility trailer on the hitch at the same time you can; and still have a load in the bed too!!! I'd like to hear from someone on the board that has one of these. |

Its a price thing. For the money you can buy a full size ,covered trailer. The advantages of a covered trailer: Less likely to have someone tinker with your toy in a covered trailer. less likely for it to get wet when it rains. Much more dry storage in a trailer. When your done playing with your toy and you arrive home....you simply unhook the trailer and forget it 'till next playtime (you going to drive to work, school, etc with your toy on the back?) |

mrnecsteve, I understand what you are saying about the trailer, but with this cover you are essentially getting a trailer and a cover at the same time. And keeping your ATV dry? ATV's are made to get muddy and wet. I mean, i know you dont purposely put your ATV out in the rain, and let it sit there all the time, but if you are traveling, and it gets wet? That doesnt really seem like a concern. Plus the cover allows you to have the option of hauling an RV or something along those lines. or i know some people that like to go ATVing and jet skiing on the same trip. This is the best way to transport both products. |

I think they are great. I too don't have a need for one right now. But if you did have a need for it, I would think it would be invaluable in the amount of problems it would solve. It's much cheaper than buying a new toy hauler if you already own a nice older trailer without the toyhauler option.
