Stock 2010 F250 hitch question.....Help
I have a 2010 F250 6.4 and recently looked at my stock trailer hitch and noticed it was rated for 6000 lbs non weight distributed and 12k weight distributed. I have towed 8k numerous times on the stock hitch with no weight distribution with no problems. Now that I know my trucks hitch is only rated to 6k, I am a little worried I am borrowed time. Does anyone have any input in the potential risks of running more than 6k on the stock hitch without WD?
Do I really need to get a hitch rated to 12k, or a WD setup? P.S this seems like false advertising on Fords part. They make it seem like the F250 is ready to pull 12k in stock form.

IDK but I've pulled more then 12k with my truck undistributed. Is it a class 5 hitch?
Seems to me as long as the weight is distributed correctly then your ok |
