Funny thing is, at first I was like nah I don't want to do it the tow straps too short. So he was like alright, and got in his truck, broke the front driveshaft. Then Gary came over, and his brother came out and were talking about how they couldn't get it out with his truck. lol... of course I hooked up.

Anyways, now that I think about it, I'm not getting any of the money from the scrap... He needs it for injectors in his cummins though...

Bummer man that sucks that it happened. But there are 2 ways to look at it now you can go get an 08 tailgate and have the cool step if you want.

But otherwise i would do like stroker x said and check out a flatbed install place you can get a decent deal on a take off and have it painted there

Just look out if you go the ebay route the ready to paint ones are just shells and dont include any hardware

B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T !! (Just like the Guiness commercials) That frame and axles has to be worth at least $250 at the scrap yard. Now your buddy only needs to come up with $750 more to get him back to where he started.

It really sucks when something like that happens. At least nobody got injured. I don't think you need a new bed. It won't be perfect, but the bed can be fixed and won't be seen normally. The tailgate is the biggest issue. That thing is toast! You probably should have hooked that Dodge on the other end as an anchor.

Yes the 08 tailgate will fit - but you have to also buy one of the hinges or something...

as far as insurance - why aren't you claiming it? It doesn't matter how you explain it - that is what you pay for insurance for... they can't deny it. But it will likely be his fault...

Well I don't want my premiums to go up...

I'll just buy a new tailgate and then paint it at my uncle's body shop....

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to start an argument. Those tandems look more like something from a heavy duty dump trailer.
