Exclamation Site Speed, and other issues!

Hey guys,

Just an update on our servers and speed and all that. I have been contacting several hosting companies about our needs and I finally found one that told me everything I had wanted to hear...except price. We have come a long way. We started off with basic shared hosting, then moved to a virtual dedicated server, a dedicated server, and then a better dedicated server. Now, it looks like we are running into troubles again and I dont have a clue as to how to optimize things and such. The current hosting company sells admin time for $150 an hour and most the time they dont do what I would like and I rarely ever see results.

I contacted the hosting company that we started off with doing shared hosting and they explained to me why our sites are slow and what we need to do to fix it. They are quite a bit more expensive than what we are paying now, BUT, they know what we need and their Admin/updating/optimization time is INCLUDED in the monthly bill! I like that part. And honestly, if we payed for an hour of admin time per month with the place we are at now it would make up the difference.

One of the things they want to do is get me on some faster hard drives. The hard drives that we are currently using are not very high performance. Secondly, they want to put all of the database's on their own hard drive. I LOVED THIS IDEA. Basically by their email back I was able to tell they knew what I needed and I am pretty secure in switching to them.

Just thought I would let everyone know whats up and where we are at. It means we will probably be switching servers AGAIN but hopefully with a much better experience with room for us to grow.
